Tournament Fees, Payout, and Points System
Tournament Fees
All Aurora BassMasters pay an entry fee of $65 for each tournament they participate in.
Non-boaters pay their $65 and cover the entry fee of the boater ($65). Boaters are responsible for launch fees and gas.
Boater: $65 per tournament plus launch fee.
Non-boater: $65 per tournament plus boater entry fee ($65).
NOTE: non-boaters pay the entry fee for the boater because it is very expensive to own and operate a boat. The cost of owning a boat and increased launch fees does not fully compensate the boat owner but is still fair.
Tournament Structure for Determining Placement
Tournaments are usually structured on “your best five”.
A portion of tournament entry fees are retained by Aurora BassMasters to help cover club expenses.
Tournament Points
Aurora BassMasters is eligible to select 12 members to participate in Ontario BassMasters Finals. Top finishers in the Ontario Finals compete to join Team Canada to represent our country internationally.
At the end of the season the Aurora BassMasters fisherman with the most points is awarded “Angler of the Year”. To be eligible for Angler of the Year honours, you must fish in at least 6 Aurora BassMasters tournaments.
